Education
Molly is a trauma-informed certified teaching artist through the Los Angeles Music Center. She also has training in Early Childhood Education, Music Together, Music Mind Games, Kaleidoscopes, Mindful Schools, Fiddle School, and Suzuki training through level 4 for violin & guitar. She has a BA in Latin American and Latino Studies, and a Master's in Ethnomusicology.
Early Childhood Teaching
Molly has taught classes for children (ages 1-7) all over LA including: Valley Cat Music, UCLA Summer Camps, UCLA Family Student Housing, Palisades Pre-school, Gillybean Pre-school, and Santa Monica Blvd. Charter Elementary Pre-School. She also teaches private lessons to this age children (and older) to help them get ready for learning the violin and guitar in the Suzuki method. As an artist in residence for the College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center for PreK, TK and Kindergarten, she designed a curriculum, Peach & Spoon Adventure, based on the music from the Peach & Spoon album.
Teacher Training
Molly has conducted teacher-training workshops for preschool teachers and aids in classrooms through the non-profit organization Create Now, and Palisades Preschool. Workshops include songs, exercises and games, along with their VAPA standard affiliation, and a breakdown of components toward acquisition of skills within the fundamentals of music: Steady Beat, Rhythm, Pitch and Melody.
Performance
Molly & friends perform the music of Peach & Spoon at libraries and festivals! Get in touch for booking. Molly has been singing and playing violin and guitar for the Nevenka Eastern European Women’s Folk Ensemble since 2005, performing at The Skirball Cultural Center, Cal Tech Remo Auditorium, Brand Library Plaza Performances, among many other venues. Over the years, Molly has participated in many live music projects including the chamber pop ensemble Kotorino, the duo Peach & Knife, the band B is for Baroness, the trio Flatfoot and Fancy Free, and various classical ensembles.
